2010 Registration Information: Early registration for the swim team will take place Sunday, May 2nd from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the pool. More information appears on the registration form. Click on the link to the form below, fill out the form, and bring it to early registration on May 2 to save $5. Regular registration will begin Tuesday June 1st. Information regarding swimsuit orders and and other items will be available at registration.

Good Times, Good Times Fun and Games in B Division After watching the A Division become more professional the last few summers with year round teams, you will be excited and pleased to know that we will be swimming in the B Division this year in PMSL.We will swim against Adelphi, BSR, Whitehall, Silver Spring and West Arundel.Many families know each other on these teams from year round swimming, other sports and activities or just socially.With the exception of one team the division is made up of true neighborhood teams.With a chair person in training, returning Head Coach, other characters such as The Wizard of the Waves, the Voice of The Wahoos, Duchess of the Deck, the legend that is the Wahoo Wiener, along with a new half-time extravaganza, this will be a year to remember.
General Information
The West Laurel Swim Team is an age-group competitive summer swim team that participates in the Prince-Mont Swim League.(http://www.princemont.org) consisting of 40 teams from Maryland and Washington, D.C.In addition to our regularly scheduled Saturday PMSL meets, we also participate in practice B-meets (Wednesday nights), the Laurel Invitational Swim Meet, the New Carrollton Relays, and the Knights of Columbus Mini Meet (for swimmers 10 & under).The competitive portion of the season runs from mid-June to the end of July culminating with the Divisional Championships and Family Fun Night & Awards Party. FFN is where the swimmers and families are given exclusive use of the pool for dinner, awards, and partying.The focus of the program is to provide our children a way to enjoy the thrill of competition and foster a love for the sport of swimming.Our hope is that all children involved in the program will enjoy a summer that provides them challenges, rewards and good times with friends

Thanks to Snowmageddon our kids will be studying a little longer than usual delaying the start of morning practices.Practice Times: Afternoons starting June 1st will be 4:30pm and 5:30pm; Mornings starting June 17th are7:30am, 8:30am and 9:30am. These dates are subject to change. Extra practices may be added based on number of swimmers and coaches availability.
Practice Eligibility
While all paid active members through age 18 can join our team, for safety purposes because our practices are conducted in the deep water area of the pool, all swimmers are asked to pass a swim test to demonstrate basic deep water swim proficiency in order to participate in practices.This is done by completing one 25 meter length of the pool continuously with some out of water arm recovery and then treading water for approximately 30 seconds.Tests are conducted by the coaching staff once practices begin and there is no limit to the number of attempts.
Fees
Early registration May 2nd - $60/swimmer, or postmarked by May 2nd
Regular registration - $65/swimmer May 3rd-June 6th
Late registration- $70 after June 7th
Family maximum of $200
Team suit fee - available at registration

Afternoon Sessions: Monday - Friday 4:30 - 5:30 PM Open/Ages 12 and under 5:30 - 6:30 PM Open/Ages 12 and up
Morning practices are scheduled to begin on June 17th.
Morning Sessions: Monday - Thursday 7:30 - 8:30 AM Ages 13 and up/Advanced 8:30 - 9:30 AM Ages 9 - 12/Intermediate 9:30 - 10:30 AM Ages 8 and under/Beg.
